Finally made something!
Finally found a bit of sewing mojo - perhaps it was unearthed at the back of the cupboard when I was doing a bit of spring cleaning the other day!
Little embellished brooches, stamped linen ( heat set with the iron), vintage cotton fabric and lace together with some beads I've had for years. And then once I got started
There's a real feeling that comes with spring time, a fresh start after the sluggish winter months.A need to clear the decks and clean out the corners. I'm usually a dreadful hoarder so am trying to take advantage of my current desire to have a clear out to make some space in my sewing room in particular. While being careful not to sling something I really might regret loosing! I've got a great pile of stuff to freecycle/pass on/take to the charity shop and am now eyeing the kitchen cupboards. There's all sorts of dishes and goodness knows what lurking at the back of the corner cupboard that never sees the light of day.
I read an article which said you could decide if you really wanted to keep something by asking yourself ' If I was moving to Australia tomorrow would I take this with me?'.........on that basis I would need a large ocean liner to take my treasures over there!

Your brooches are lovely - I love the stamped fabric!
Good luck with the spring cleaning. It's a nice feeling when it's done.

We did need a large ocean liner when we moved to Australia and I am so glad that i insitisted I could not live without my treasures, even after moving 18 years ago I still love each and everything I chose to bring!

Those brooches are beautiful, I bet you're pleased with them. I love Spring but seem to groan at the amount of stuff I've got lying around when the sun shines through the windows. Think I'd be needing a naval fleet to take my belongings to Australia!

Oh my, what little gems these are I could see many more of these being made, with a little pin attached to an old jacket just ready to wear when the weather finally gets spring like....beautiful...

Lovely brooches. I try to clear out by saying that if I haven't used it in 6 months I never will but this always fails when I hit the stash as it reminds me of all the things that I want to do and haven't done in the past 6 moths.

Those are so cute, and very original, lovely colours! I think I've have to not move rather than throw anything out!!

They are so pretty - Everyone seems to be Spring Cleaning and de-cluttering at the moment - I tend to declutter all the time but there always seems to be small piles of 'stuff' lying around! - Natalie X
